The Poison, In Love
My Love first caught a glimpse of me whilst he was in 7th grade,
I was in the class ahead alone without many friends
Once I looked at him I was struck by two blue pools of Mercury,
Which injected straight into my heart a poison.
This venom made me see how beautiful he was to me,
It made his laugh, his thoughts and actions, further increase my attraction.
I was lured and pulled by the sting of wanting to be with him always.
He would conceal me in his arms and the entire world seemed warm and safe.
He became my best friend and ally, my lover and fiancée.
This poison I call In Love, not love, but In Love,
Anyone can love something but to be in love,
Is to not be able to comprehend your life without your someone in it.
To be In love is splendor and agony because he has been taken,
Over the sea away from me.
Hunting pirates and slaying our foes,
The red, white, and blue, made him go.
For 7 months he will be upon the ocean yet somehow,
Our love has increased my devotion,
And I know that when he comes home I’ll be happy again,
Even the Marines won’t keep us from being In Love till the bitter end.
